for medical usage of the medicinal product
General characteristics:
Chemical name: Calcium salt of glucone acid;
Main physical-chemical properties: tablets of white colour, doubleconvex form with facet;
Content: calcium gluconate - 0,5 g;
Excipients: saccharose, aspartame, potato starch, fruity flavour, citric acid, magnesium stearate (content enough to get the tablet with the mass of 0,8 g)
Pharmaceutical form: Tablets.
Pharmacological group:Medicines of calcium.
Pharmacological properties:Calcium gluconate fruity as the source of ions of calcium belongs to the remedies, which regulate metabolic processes. It influences the processes of transmission of nervous impulses, contraction of skeleton and smooth muscles, contractive ability of myocardium, forming of osseous tissue, coagulation of blood, reduces penetrability of vessels, normalizes activity of other organs and systems.
Indications for usage: Hypocalcaemia of different genesis; insufficiency of thyroid glands, accompanied with tetany and spasmophilia; skin diseases (itch, eczema, psoriasis); parenchimatose hepatitis and toxic breaches of liver; nephritis; eclampsia; hypercalciuemic form of paroxysmal mioplegy. As the remedy, reducing penetrability of vessel's wall, it is used under haemorrhagic vasculite; phenomena of radial disease, inflammatory and excudative processes (pneumonia, pleuritits, oedema of lungs, adnexitis, endometritis).
Calcium gluconate fruity is prescribed as desensibilizing remedy upon treatment of allergy diseases (serous disease, bronchial asthma, nettle-rash, angioneurotic oedema, hay-fever and other) and medical allergy. The medicinal product is used as additional haemostatic remedy under pulmonary, gastric-intestinal, nose and uterus haemorrhagies. Calcium gluconate fruity is used as antidot under poisoning by salts of magnesium, oxalate and its soluble salts, and also soluble salts of fluoride acid.
Administration and dosage:It is administrated before meal. Tablets should be chewed before swallowing. Doses for adults are 1-3 g (2-6 tablets) and more than 2-3 times per day; children below 1 year are administrated 0,5 g (1 tablet), from 2 to 4 years - 1 g (2 tablets), from 5 to 6 years - 1,0-1,5 g (2-3 tablets), from 7 to 9 years - 1,5-2,0 g (3-4 tablets), from 10 to 14 years - 2-3 g (4-6 tablets) 2-3 times per day.
Side effects:Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, pain in epigastrial area, bradicardia are possible.
Contraindications:Hypercalcaemia, hard hypercalciuria, hard nephritic insufficiency, arteriosclerosis, disposition to thromboses, increased sensibility to the medicine.
Interaction with other medicines:In cases of usage of the medicine simultaneously with other medicines the doctor's control is needed.
Overdose:Not described.
Peculiarities of administration:For the patients with small hypercalciuria, small breach of kidneys' function or urine disease in anaemnesis the medicine should be prescribed with care and level of excretion of calcium with urine should be controled regularly. For the patients with disposition to creation of concrements in urine the volume of used liquid should be increased.
Storage conditions and shelf-life:Keep in dry place, away from direct sunlight. Shelf-life - 2 years.
